24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY - SEASON 9 REVIEW

After the last few seasons of 24 found the show peppered with inspired bits of action but largely running on fumes, everyone walked away with the general consensus that Jack Bauer would return. When or how was anyone’s guess, and talks of a possible movie floated around in the years that followed. But what was finally decided on was a 12-episode limited series that would still cover 24 hours, set in London. Whatever it was—the long break, the shortened schedule, the location or, most likely, a little bit of everything—this latest season, pitched as 24: Live Another Day, more than lived up to expectations. 24: Live Another Day Review: To Russia, Without His Love

Honestly,  24: Live Another Day Season 1 Episode 12  left me horribly unhappy. I was prepared for someone important not to survive, but who they killed left me wanting to turn off the TV and walk away. With less than an hour until all out war broke out with China, Jack scrambled to find Cheng to stop it. A task made all the more difficult knowing that Cheng had a sniper trained on Audrey. 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY - "DAY 9: 10:00 PM-11:00 AM" REVIEW

Wrapping up its shortest season -- and, not coincidentally, one of its strongest -- 24: Live Another Day finishes with an episode that’s at times exciting, emotional, cathartic and just plain cool. Nobody gets a happy ending this time around, just variations on misery. Except for the world at large. World at large? Big winners today. Hooray for no war! Oh, and Erik wound up with a promotion, so that’s nice for him. But other than that? Hoo, boy. Read More... //www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/15/24-live-another-day-day-9-1000-pm-1100-am-review

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY - "DAY 9: 9:00 PM-10:00 PM" REVIEW

A running theme this season has been people trying to make things right. It’s kind of what drives Jack to do all the crazy things he does, from getting himself locked up at the start of the day to Kate desperately hoping to make up for her perceived failures and even Margot’s twisted version of justice. Most everyone on 24 eventually finds themselves facing a situation where they feel must they fix some of what’s been broken. Sometimes things get fixed, but most of the time it just leads to bigger, badder problems. Read More... //www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/08/24-live-another-day-day-9-900-pm-1000-pm-review

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY - "DAY 9: 8:00 PM-9:00 PM" REVIEW

24 traditionally will go through a few big bad guys in a given season, with the trade-in of one for another signaling the next story arc. So while Margot may have unceremoniously handed the Big Baddie baton on to Cross and Navarro during the last episode, this week was the real transition. With the abbreviated structure this time around they're able to zip through those two in an hour before landing squarely on Cheng, aka The Man Who Tortured the Crap out of Both Jack and Audrey. His entrance at the end of the hour significantly raises the stakes in every way. 24: Live Another Day Season 9 Finale Recap: Justified

And like that, another long day closes. Jack Bauers mission to keep the president and his family (and us) safe was mostly successful. He accomplished more in one day (again) than most field agents can do in a 30-year career. But the thing with Jack is his my-way-or-the-highway approach to diplomacy comes with a personal price, and I dont just mean for those around him. Throughout this compressed event season, it felt like Jack was trying to out-think, out-maneuver his fate, and for a moment it looked like he mightve.   Read More... //www.vulture.com/2014/07/24-recap-season-9-season-finale.html

'24: Live Another Day' Finale Recap: The Day Ends and the Clock is Silent

I haven't loved Live Another Day , but I've enjoyed quite a bit of it -- even this week's finale.   But that ending. I. Hate. It. I way prefer the original series ending, which was almost as depressing in its own right, but also at least held out some hope or acknowledgement that this is what Jack deserved. Or maybe even wanted.   Read More... //www.buddytv.com/articles/24/24-live-another-day-finale-rec-54044.aspx
