Honestly, 24: Live Another Day Season 1 Episode 12 left me horribly unhappy.
I was prepared for someone important not to survive, but who they killed left me wanting to turn off the TV and walk away.
With less than an hour until all out war broke out with China, Jack scrambled to find Cheng to stop it. A task made all the more difficult knowing that Cheng had a sniper trained on Audrey.

Wrapping up its shortest season -- and, not coincidentally, one of its strongest -- 24: Live Another Day finishes with an episode that’s at times exciting, emotional, cathartic and just plain cool. Nobody gets a happy ending this time around, just variations on misery. Except for the world at large. World at large? Big winners today. Hooray for no war! Oh, and Erik wound up with a promotion, so that’s nice for him. But other than that? Hoo, boy.

And like that, another long day closes. Jack Bauers mission to keep the president and his family (and us) safe was mostly successful. He accomplished more in one day (again) than most field agents can do in a 30-year career. But the thing with Jack is his my-way-or-the-highway approach to diplomacy comes with a personal price, and I dont just mean for those around him. Throughout this compressed event season, it felt like Jack was trying to out-think, out-maneuver his fate, and for a moment it looked like he mightve. Read More...

I haven't loved Live Another Day , but I've enjoyed quite a bit of it -- even this week's finale.
But that ending. I. Hate. It. I way prefer the original series ending, which was almost as depressing in its own right, but also at least held out some hope or acknowledgement that this is what Jack deserved. Or maybe even wanted. Read More...

24: Live Another Day ran its 12th and final episode on Monday night. The episode spans a full 13 hours in the life of Jack Bauer. It’s the first time in a season of the show where a time jump has occurred. When the original conception of the miniseries came out, I incorrectly assumed the show would bounce around and play with the flexibility a twelve episode order gave them. Instead, the creative team behind 24 got together to make another season of 24 , for better or for worse. In some cases, the typical tropes the show dragged us through seemed tired. (You could feel the collective eye roll of America when yet another mole was discovered.) But in many cases, the show was just as exhilarating as it always was. The best action hero America has is not on a movie screen. Regardless of if he returns from Moscow or not, the name Jack Bauer has become synonmous with kicking ass. He’s one of the few television characters who will live on long after the people at Fox are finished making the show with Kiefer Sutherland. Therefore, if this is really the last we’ve seen of Jack Bauer, then the show had him go out almost exactly as he came in.
