And Then There Were None Reviews & Ratings

60 minutes

In August 1939, eight strangers are invited, by various tactics and misrepresentations, to Soldier Island, a small isolated rock off the Devon coast. Cut off from the mainland, with their ostensible hosts, "Mr. and Mrs. U.N. Owen", mysteriously absent, they are each accused of a terrible crime, as are the two married servants. When two of the ten die mysteriously before morning, the accused suddenly realise there may be a murderer among them. Based on a novel by Agatha Christie.

This is an excellent production of Agatha Christie's most famous novel. The setting and cinematography are fantastic. The isolated mansion is both extravagant and spartan, and the island gives you a wonderful "isolated from the real world" vibe. The characters are delightfully unlikable.

Yes, there are some changes made - some adjustments for modern sensibilities - but I love that the ending is closer to the book than most adaptations.

If you've seen any of the countless remakes (thrillers, horror, even parodies), give yourselves a treat and watch this treatment of the original.

I'll preface this by saying that I've never read the novel, but boy did I love this miniseries. I was constantly trying to figure out who was doing the killings and I did not get there until right before the reveal. It is an intense and well acted - even the island setting adds to the excellence - mini series that keeps the viewers on their toes.

I've read that this is the first British adaptation in many years that has used the original ending of the book and not the play. I'm personally a fan of this ending and think it makes a much bigger impact on the viewer.

If you want a reason to watch, then here's SIX WORDS: Aidan Turner in a bath towel! As far as the show is concerned, if you watch enough TV then you can figure out mysteries before the end. When a certain actor is cast, because of their profile you know they aren't there for a small role. For example, if Ben Kingsley was on an episode of Law & Order it wouldn't be for a cameo or walk-on, chances are he's the killer. This can be harder with British TV because British actors get around, six degrees of separation would be much easier there. With all that said, this is worth a watch.

And The There Were None is a beautiful period piece set in the 1930's about a set of strangers brought together on a mysterious island by false pretenses. The manner in which the show is filmed brings a kind of mysterious and dawning feel. All the actors are well known and play their parts extraordinarily well. Why have they been brought to this island? I recommend you watch and find out.

A solid adaptation that brings the Agatha Christie work to life in a fulfilling way, it's additions to the novel's narrative (though they remove a lot of the subtext) allow the audience to judge characters by their actions by actually getting the chance to see them. The ending is different from both the novel and the play, which sentences characters to a more conclusive ending.

Excellent adaption of Agatha Christie's wonderful thriller. Though some might find some extra elements and others missing, it is beautifully filmed and really makes your skin crawl

10 people with dark secrets end up on a secluded island, lured there by a host not yet in attendance. soon after one after the other is killed in a way losely based on a poem that can be found in any room. but who is the killer? the group tries to find out while revealing their past.
ths show is gripping, amazingly cast and a thrilling atmosphere is so brilliantly created that this is a must watch for fans of crime shows, thriller, murder mysteries and british tv shows in general. the bbc created something great here. one of the highlights of 2015.
the cast includes many well known faces. I loved it. as I said, an amazingly cast ensemble cast. watch it. you will most likely not regrett it :)

I like that this is slowed down compared to other versions of this story. As I'm not completely done with the show, I'm not sure how I feel about it entirely yet, but I hope it picks up some pace.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is a must watch!
I didn't see the ending coming at all! Excellent build up throwing subtle clues that only make sense at the end.
Beautiful scenes and characters!
