Season 2

The Pierce family is reeling in the wake of Jennifer's (China Anne McClain) disappearance. Jefferson (Cress Williams), Lynn (Christine Adams) and Anissa (Nafessa Williams) all gather to discuss the most effective way to find her. After learning that Jennifer is with Khalil (Jordan Calloway), Lynn goes to Detective Henderson (Damon Gupton) to ask him to issue a warrant for Khalil's arrest. Meanwhile, Jennifer and Khalil are doing their best to stay off the grid but Tobias's (Marvin Jones III) new henchwoman Cutter (guest star Kearran Giovanni, "Major Crimes") is closing in on them.

Jefferson and Anissa investigate the hometown of a creepy man at the clinic and make a shocking discovery; with Syonide gone, Tobias pressures Khalil to help fill some of the void left in the organization.

Jefferson confronts Anissa about her reckless and irresponsible behavior, leading to a heated disagreement.

Jefferson is forced to watch as his good work is undone when his replacement arrives and begins implementing sweeping changes; Anissa continues to play Robin Hood by stealing from one of the most powerful crime syndicates in Freeland.

Jefferson must break the news to his students and faculty that he is stepping down; struggling with his new life as Painkiller, Kahlil pays a visit to Jennifer in hopes of mending things; Tobias continues to enact his plan.

The board considers a motion to shut down the school, forcing Jefferson to go to Napier Frank to sway the vote; Jennifer struggles with her powers; Anissa finds a new way to give back to Freeland.
