Bones Review: Can You Handle Your Chainsaw?

We’ve reached the halfway point of the final season of Bones. You have to take stock of how much has changed, and how much hasn’t. For example, Bones and Booth’s personal relationship has progressed greatly since the first season, given they are now married with two children. Then again, Bones still believes the best way to approach sports is through mathematical and scientific reasoning. It has its place, but that strategy is more appreciated by Christine Booth learning to ride a bike than it is by the suspects in this week’s case. The Jeffersonian investigates the death and dismemberment of a lumberjack of all professions. Phyllis, the victim, had years of professional golf experience which made her a surprisingly strong lumberjacker. There is a whole community dedicated to the sport of cutting down trees and consuming beer and flapjacks. The latter food is a great source of enjoyment for Aubrey. I believe the word beautiful was used to describe the ingredients in the batter. Brennan’s intern for the week is Dr. Fuentes, and he has a less than fun time on an otherwise very fun case because he doesn’t get to play with the chainsaws. Booth and Brennan get to completely immerse themselves in the environment searching for Phyllis’s killer. READ MORE...

Bones Season 12 Episode 6 Review: The Flaw in the Saw

Every installment of Bones must open with some new way to show putrid remains and Bones Season 12 Episode 6 was no exception. Going through the dumpster at a taxidermy shop was a new high, or low, depending upon your point of view. Im fairly certain they arent suppose to dispose of those animal remains in a dumpster. Its a health hazard, not to mention disgusting. Can you just imagine the smell during the summer months? ...Read More...

In this episode of Bones , titled "The Final Chapter: The Flaw in the Saw," Brennan and Booth visit a lumberjack competition in the midst of their own argument over science versus sports. Best 'Bones' Quotes from 'The Tutor in the Tussle'

Bones investigated the death of a tutor in "The Tutor in the Tussle," looking at the victim's roommate and parents of his students. Also, Brennan disagreed with the choice of narrator for her audiobook (and learned that someone was actually a fan of her books despite stating the contrary) and Hodgins was left anticipating Cam's revenge after an incident in the lab. Here are the best quotes from "The Tutor in the Tussle." ...Read More... //

'Bones' Recap: Has Aubrey's Father Resurfaced to Make Amends?

"The Final Chapter: The Tutor in the Tussle" is quintessential Bones at its comedic best -- from Brennan and Booth discussing boners and her audio book to Aubrey covered in guts and collecting dry cleaners' names and Cam promising revenge on Hodgins for infesting her office with spiders. This hearty gut-buster also manages to insert some startlingly poignant moments between Aubrey and his colleagues in surprisingly brief scenes when he is confronted with his father's appearance. ...Read More... //

Bones Season 12 Episode 5 Review: The Tutor in the Tussle

There arent many shows where youd find a gruesomely decomposing body dumped on Boner Street, but leave it to Bones to go there. The kid trying to steal the sign and stumbling over the corpse was expected, but Brennan, of all people, getting such a laugh over the street name was not. ...Read More...

Bones Season 12 Episode 4 Review: The Price for the Past

Horrifying. Thats the only word to describe Bones Season 12 Episode 4 . Simply horrifying. Finding a victim whose body was being eaten by rats was bad. Realizing that the man was Aldo Clemmons, the former priest and Army chaplain who had served with Booth and actually married Booth and Brennan, that was worse. ...Read More...

'Bones' Recap: Who Pays the Ultimate Price for Booth's Sinful Past?

Bones pulls a bait-and-switch on us in this episode, "The Final Chapter: The Price for the Past." It begins like most of the comedic episodes, with a birthday party and talk of fecal matter in the swimming pool, and ends with one of the most horrifying deaths in Bones history. The murder is a further kick in the gut with a combat boot because the victim is a much beloved character whom I had desperately hoped we would get to see more of. ...Read More... //
