Chicago Med Reviews & Ratings

Wednesdays, 8:00 PM ET on NBC

60 minutes

Executive producer Dick Wolf delivers the newest installment of the compelling “Chicago” franchise, an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city’s most explosive hospital and the courageous team of doctors who hold it together. They will tackle unique new cases inspired by topical events, forging fiery relationships in the pulse-pounding pandemonium of the emergency room, and through it all, familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments will intertwine as this third team of Chicago heroes hits the ground running. The cast includes Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta.

I started out watching because I love the other Chicago shows. But this one, for me, is just so so. I like Code Black so much better. The doctors here are okay. I do like Oliver Platt but I can't see watching a show just for him. I am removing this one from my dvr schedule.

This is the weak link in the Chicago series. The main reason is Dr. Halstead - an awful character, a doctor more concerned with his own ego than his patient's wishes, a man who pushes what he wants onto others whether they are receptive or not (breaking the law at times while doing it), a man who went after a pregnant widow who was still in mourning over her husband who died while on active duty. This man, however, is lauded by the show as the good guy. He isn't the only problem of course. The other characters are either completely inconsistent or overblown caricatures. Oliver Platt's character is the only shining light among them all. A miss for me unless I need to watch because of a crossover with the other, superior Chicago shows.

Another hit for sure! Right up there with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD and I love the way they bring the three of them together, a first on TV and it works. A great cast, great story line, well done and a pleasure to watch. I hope to be watching it for a very long time.

Definitely my favourite of the Chicago Shows. I love the detail to medical terminology, the interaction between types of medicine (it's never a one doctor consult, various doctors are involved). I particularly enjoy the psychology aspect and the common misconceptions of the job of a psychiatrist. The fight against the array of mental health sigma is simply fabulous! "I don't need a shrink" "my daughter doesn't need a psych consult" ... the list goes on

I gave this a try because I enjoy Chicago Fire (and to a lesser degree, Chicago PD). I also love Oliver Platt and S Epatha Merkerson. Unfortunately, it's not very well written. The characters don't have a lot of personality, so I'm not at all invested in any of them. This is the kind of show that, when I'm watching it, I find myself constantly changing the channel. I gave it a try, but it just couldn't hold my interest. The first season isn't finished yet, but I'm already done with this show.

Nice story line, actually loved the fact that some episodes are in correlation with the rest of the chicago's TV shows

I adore this series and it's still on the fourth episode! If you are a Dick Wolf fan, you'll absolutely love Chicago Med.
