Mondays, on The Weather Channel

60 minutes

"Coast Guard Alaska" follows a teams Coast Guard swimmers and rescue pilots in the 50th state. The docu-series showcases how the brave men and women of the unit balance their work with their families and how each one deals with the pressures associated with the job. The series also explores what life is like on the base in an area so dependant on weather conditions while the workers are off duty. The group enjoys many of nature's offerings, including fishing, bear watching and old-fashioned barbecues with friends and family.

Tough job for tough Men and Women. When My Team did our Arctic training they flew us into a few places and some trained with us. We normally don't let anyone train with us but I had a feeling that these people could do well, yep they did just fine as a Unit of new Navy SEALs would have. A couple of those women, whoa, they stuck it out in the cold water torture longer than most of my team, the only ones they didn't beat were my 2nd in command and me. My hats off to them all.
