Elementary Recap 4/23/17: Season 5 Episode 20 “The Art of Sleights and Deception”

Internal Affairs is at the station investigating Marcus because a man complained that he pulled a gun on him the night before while he was off duty. Watson walks in on a woman holding a gun on Sherlock. She pulls the trigger and Sherlock shows Watson that he has the bullet in his mouth. She is angry at him for scaring her but Sherlock was researching the death of a magician, Claude who died while performing that trick. Watson, Marcus and Sherlock search the magician’s house and find a threatening note from another magician named Anibus. Watson researches the man who has made the complaint against Marcus. His story is very convincing. Anibus is another magician who dated Claude. While she was angry at Claude she would never hurt him. She does say he liked to gamble and was known to cheat. Maybe he double crossed the wrong person? Sherlock finds the shop where Claude was gambling illegally. The owner admits he and Claude were working together and Claude was cheating a man named Keating. Keating owed Claude a great deal of money. Watson reviewed the man’s statement against Marcus and she thinks he has been coached. She thinks Chantelle’s ex has something to do with it. Keating says Claude wanted information about Turnleaf books. He wanted him to make copies of all of their ledgers from 1963. READ MORE...

Elementary Recap 3/26/17: Season 5 Episode 18 “Dead Man’s Tale”

Sherlock tells Watson that he believes that Shinwell murdered Jameel but she doesn’t believe it. She needs proof. Sherlock asks her to meet with Jameel’s brother and the police during their interview later in the day. A man purchases a self-storage unit and thinks he hit the jackpot until he opens a cabinet and finds a dead body. The team is called in to investigate. Sherlock thinks the victim, Travis, was a thief who worked for the city and stole the merchandise for people who were recently deceased. They interview the man who worked with Travis and admits that Travis was stealing but he didn’t have any part of it. Travis did call him the day before he disappeared and said he hit the jackpot and he won’t be into work anymore. They decide to check the possessions of the last person who died that Travis was working with. Sherlock believes that a captain’s log was taken for his possessions. Watson sits in on Jameel’s brother’s interview and he says he saw Shinwell walk away from the murder scene. He also saw Shinwell throw the gun away. He went and got the gun. He planned on killing Shinwell at his brother’s funeral but lost his nerve. He was only 10 years old. Then Shinwell was sent to prison and he moved on. However, when Shinwell got out of prison he felt he had to avenge his brother’s death. But he missed when he tried to shot Shinwell. READ MORE...

Elementary Recap 3/19/17: Season 5 Episode 17 “The Ballad of Lady Frances”

The police overhear a man being shot but can’t find the body. Shinwell and Holmes play chess and box at the same time. Holmes says it will help Shinwell think on his feet. He is called away when he gets a text from the police asking him to meet at the area when the shots were heard. All the police have is the audio of the crime and ask Holmes and Watson for help figuring out what happened. During the crime they hear the victim being asked where Francis is and being shot when he won’t tell where she is. The mayor is the up for re-election and needs to be seen tough on crime. He wants answer on this shooting ASAP. Shinwell is shot at and he thinks it is related to his gang days but Watson is worried. Holmes listens to the tape again and realizes that there were two cars involved in the crime and he thinks the victim was a manual laborer. He is able to figure out the victim’s name. Watson interviews the victim’s wife and she identifies him on the tape. She also tells them her husband was having an affair. Holmes searches the house for clues and is able to find the woman he was having an affair with but her name isn’t Francis. They search her house and realize the victim was stealing from his clients and Francis isn’t a person but rather a rare guitar worth $5 million dollars. READ MORE...

Elementary Recap 3/12/17: Season 5 Episode 16 “Fidelity”

Holmes is questioned by Agent Gephart and told he needs to stop investigating the Kotite murders, if he doesn’t Gephart will arrest him on trumped up charges. Holmes meets up with Watson and says they have to figure out what Gephart is up to. Kitty returns home to find Watson searching for listening devices in their home. She doesn’t find anything and they discuss Holmes reaction to meeting Archie. Kitty says he basically ignored the baby. Holmes has a theory that all of the dead men were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Watson goes to interview Cy’s widow while Holmes and Kitty meet with Mr. Garber. Mr. Garber thinks their theory the Kotite’s lawyer, Sawyer, didn’t kill himself is crazy and won’t help them. Cy’s widow shares all of Cy’s records from his last few trials. She thinks there might be information about his death. Watson listens to one of the recordings and hears Sawyer rambling about government conspiracies. Elementary Recap 3/5/17: Season 5 Episode 15 “Wrong Side of the Road”

Holmes attends the funeral of his old colleague Cy Durning. While at the cemetery he gets a text that says the death was a murder and to meet in five minutes. Holmes goes and finds his former protégé, Kitty waiting for him. Watson comes home to find Kitty and Holmes. Holmes tells Watson that Kitty thinks they are both in danger. Kitty tells the story of Kotite, a man that Kitty and Holmes helped put in prison several years ago. Kotite was released from prison three weeks ago and three people involved in the case have died in unusual circumstances. Holmes wants Kitty and Watson to go speak to the captain about the case but Watson is worried. When Kitty left three years ago she was involved in a serious incident were a man was hurt and the captain suspected Kitty caused the injuries. Kitty said she wrote the captain a letter right after she left and she thinks everything is now OK between them. READ MORE...

Elementary Recap 2/19/17: Season 5 Episode 14 “Rekt in Real Life”

Shimwell and Watson meet in a coffee house and he is very nervous about being in public. He asks for Watson’s advice because his daughter wants to see him after all these years. Watson tells him it is danger and to be careful. OG Pwnzr is playing a video game on a live webcast. While he is playing someone hits him from behind. Calls start coming into the police station reporting the assault. The problem is no one knows OG’s really name or where he was during the assault. Tom’s meets with his niece and Watson to learn more about the gaming world. She tells him it is a multi-billion dollar industry. OG was an ex-professional, a blogger and an agent looking for new talent. Holmes calls Watson to let her know that he is on the case and has found the crime scene. Unfortunately, OG is dead. Watson and Marcus meet Holmes there and search OG’s cell phone. They use the information to go to a gamer’s house. READ MORE...

Elementary Recap 1/29/17: Season 5 Episode 13 “Over a Barrel”

A man shows up looking for help from Sherlock. Watson tells him that they are in the middle of something, but he can come in. Sherlock is busy in the other room with Mason, who is irritated by the man. The man tells Sherlock that his son Conner was attacked. He wants to find out who did it. After his son was attacked he died a year later of an overdose. Sherlock tells him that he gets an awful lot of cases and can’t take them all. He can’t help him. The next day at the precinct, the man shows up again. Sherlock tells him he can’t be of help once again. Angry, the man leaves and goes to a diner. He walks in and pulls out a gun, taking them all hostage. When the woman behind the counter asks him what he wants he says doesn’t want money, he wants Sherlock and Watsons help or he will start shooting. The captain doesn’t think Sherlock should pay him a visit. He wants him to call first. But Sherlock insists he will be okay. Sherlock goes to the diner with Watson and enters. He threatens to shoot everyone and he won’t let Watson leave either. She has to stay in the diner. READ MORE...

Elementary Recap 1/15/17: Season 5 Episode 12 “Crowned Clown, Downtown Brown”

Watson is trying to get Hill to help her father so he will stop writing books about her and Sherlock. Watson notices that Hill is going on a date. She’s excited for him. She wants all the details. Hill heads to the bar to meet her. She calls to say she needs a rain check. She’s stuck on a case. Hill goes to leave and accidently bumps into a man, knocking his drink out of his hand to the ground. It smashes. The man gets angry and shoves Hill, who offers to buy him a drink. The man explains that he wanted that drink not a new one. Hill says he’s a cop – he doesn’t want any trouble. The man starts swinging. Two men are chasing a clown through the woods. He’s running fast. They fall behind when they catch up they see the clown dead on the ground in a pile of leaves. His body looks settled. There is no way he just died right there, 4 minutes ago? The men are confused, staring at him in disbelief with their flash lights pointed at his clown face. READ MORE...

Elementary Winter Premiere Recap 1/8/17: Season 5 Episode 11 “Be My Guest”

They seem like a normal couple having a bad day until he tells her not to pout all day and attaches a wire to a collar around her neck. We see Holmes with the captain at an office building. Holmes reads the lips of a man sitting across the room – the same man who attached the girl to a dog collar. He follows him to the elevator and snatches his cell phone without him seeing. Holmes looks through the phone and sees a video sent by the woman. She looks sad and upset, dancing while attached to the collar with the wire. The man comes up from behind Holmes. He wants his phone back. He begins yelling. The captain arrives. Holmes says that he took it by accident. He lets the man go and continues to lie to the captain about what just happened. Holmes arrives to see Watson and Shinwell. He tells him what he saw and wants to go and help the woman. They take off right away. They go through the man’s apartment but find nothing except for a DVD of the movie Mannequin and a bunch of pirated DVDs. Back at police headquarters, Holmes questions the man with the captain. The man – Mr. Decker – isn’t speaking. They tell him they are determined to find the woman. Watson sees that he deleted most of social media and did something to his phone. Elementary It Serves You Right to Suffer Review (Season 5 Episode 9)

So, as those of you who read my last review know, originally CBS had planned to wait until next year to air anymore new episodes of Elementary. Fortunately, as a sort of special Christmas present, it looks like well be getting two new more episodes before the years out after all, beginning with tonights It Serves You Right to Suffer. (Guess that title wasnt aimed at us after all!) Perhaps CBS saw the opportunity to cash in on the lack of competition at the moment, or they were simply taking advantage of the fact that they could actually air the show when it was supposed to air, as many of the episodes have aired well after 10pm in many areas, because of football games running late, making the shows schedule a bit unpredictable, to say the least, if you werent watching live. ...Read More... //www.tvequals.com/2016/12/12/elementary-it-serves-you-right-to-suffer-review-season-5-episode-9/
