Sakata Gintoki is a samurai living in an era when samurais are no longer needed. To add to his troubles, oppressive aliens have moved in to invade. Gintoki lives with Kagura and Shinpachi, taking on odd jobs to make the world a better place...and to pay their rent.
I'm not that much of a fan of the revamp series. Sure the picture is pristine but it's just not the same. The character design is flimsy at best and the voice acting is horrible. Not to the abysmal CGI transformations in the 1st and 2nd seasons; though they have been impeccably revised in the 3rd season. Along with the introduction of the rest of the Outer Senshi.
This series is a great way, for those who are familiar with the show, to gain a more accurate account of how the original creator intended to develop the story. However, it feels VERY rushed at times, which frequently leaves the individual thinking "that's it?" The 90s version, despite the several filler episodes, felt more wholesome; as several relationships both Sailor Moon and her individual senshi, and the guardians themselves, developed a strong and believable bond, as opposed to blindly following her as their Neo-Queen Serenity in SMC.
