'Lethal Weapon' Premiere Recap: Riggs and Murtagh are Back in the Saddle

Lethal Weapon 's Martin Riggs is back, my friends, but can he hold a candle to the startling blue eyes, gravel-sexy Aussie overtones, rabid suicidal bent, cowboy boots and mullet that made the movie a runaway hit when Mel Gibsonintroduced him to us 29 years ago? Meh, what does it matter? Half of you watching today have never seen the original Lethal Weapon . I'll tell you this though, you are in for a treat. FOX has recreated the franchise for a new generation and we're promised it in weekly installments instead of strung out over God knows how many summers. ...  Read More... //www.buddytv.com/articles/lethal-weapon/lethal-weapon-recap-is-it-leth-61345.aspx

Lethal Weapon Season 1 Episode 1 Review: Pilot

I don't know about everybody else, but I really enjoyed the first installment of Lethal Weapon. There were parts that were sort of goofy and unnecessary, but overall it succeeded at doing exactly what it was supposed to do: entertain. While Lethal Weapon Season 1 Episode 1 was faced-paced and action packed, it also had quieter moments that showed how different it could be from the original films that starred Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. ...Read More...   //www.tvfanatic.com/2016/09/lethal-weapon-season-1-episode-1-review-pilot/

Clayne Crawford Is the Best Thing About Lethal Weapon

A cursory glance at Fox's recent development history reveals that the network is desperate to launch a police procedural with legs that can likely take over for the long-running Bones when it (finally) signs off this year after 12 (yes, 12) seasons. It's where the Minority Report s, the Almost Human s ... ...Read More... //www.tvguide.com/news/lethal-weapon-review-clayne-crawford-fox/?rss=breakingnews

'Lethal Weapon' Review: An '80s Action Comedy for Today

Last year, FOX aired Minority Report . It didn't work, but the network is still trying to find a police procedural based on a movie, hence Lethal Weapon . A remake of the iconic '80s film franchise starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, the TV show doesn't take too many liberties with the plot. Instead, it's as if they took the character (and sensibilities) of the films and simply transported them into the present. That may or may not be a good thing.   Read More... //www.buddytv.com/articles/lethal-weapon/lethal-weapon-review-an-80s-ac-61323.aspx

Lethal Weapon, MacGyver & The Exorcist Review: Three Adaptations, But Only One Worth Watching

Like those addicted to slots or the horses, TV networks never give up hope fora sure thing. Even against the odds, it's that hope that in many ways propels the resurrecting ofold favorites and past hits even ones that would be far better off left alone. That's the case with two of the three adaptations coming to broadcast primetime TVthis week, when Lethal Weapon premieres on Fox tomorrow right before the return of Empire , followed by CBS MacGyver and Foxs The Exorc ...Read More... //deadline.com/2016/09/lethal-weapon-macgyver-the-exorcist-review-fall-tv-show-video-1201823550/

Lethal Weapon Review: Reboot Scales Down Movie Formula for TV Screen

In a fall TV season well-stocked with blasts from the past, programmers clearly hope that familiarity doesnt breed contempt. Maybe no ones hopes are higher than the folks at Fox, whose Lethal Weapon reboot of the 80s/90s-era Mel Gibson - Danny Glover movie franchise is being marketed as a centerpiece for the season. The original 1987 film, written by Shane Black and directed by Richard Donner, was a template for buddy-cop films to come, generating three sequels and huge box office. Foxs series stars Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans a newer face and an established comedic talent are intended to awaken the Weapon for a new generation. ...Read More... //www.thewrap.com/lethal-weapon-review-reboot-scales-down-movie-formula-for-tv-screen/

Lethal Weapon - "Pilot" Review

Cutting to the chase, I enjoyed the Lethal Weapon pilot more than I anticipated. Like, I assume, most of you, I was -- and for the most part still am -- against the rebooting of Lethal Weapon. I'm against most reboots just based on principal, in general, but I can still be wrong - like with Hannibal and Fargo (even though Fargo acts more like a spiritual adaptation/sequel). Basically, there was no point to turning Lethal Weapon into a TV show when the original films are still easily accessible and, in the case of the first two, still hold up. READ MORE...
