Daredevil Recap: The Devil Walks Among Us

Daredevil sometimes feels like two shows the gritty, dark superhero story with a surprisingly emotional heart, and a really boring law drama. The latter has only really slipped in the past few episodes, but its a far fall; after the suspense and crackle of Wilson and Matts backstories and action, Karen and Foggy and Urich feel more than a little foolish in their endeavors. But when Elena is killed in connection with their case a case theyve connected directly to Wilson Fisk it demonstrates a serious dissonance between Matts two worlds. Matts inner knowledge of Wilson Fisk isolates him more and more. You can actually feel him recede from them when Foggy and Karen mourn Elena in the bar.   Read More... //www.vulture.com/2015/04/daredevil-recap-season-1-episode-9.html

Daredevil Season 1 Episode 13 Review: Daredevil

Wowza... the new suit was slick, functional and definitely worth the wait! Aside from a few slower episodes toward the end, I've got little to complain about. Marvel's Daredevil not only exceeded my expectations, but it made me interested enough to pick up Frank Miller's "The Man Without Fear" comics run. Though Daredevil Season 1 Episode 13 wasn't exactly full of surprises, it was a strong and emotional finale.  Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2015/04/daredevil-season-1-episode-13-review-daredevil/

Daredevil Recap: Im Not a Monster, Am I?

Daredevil s episode six finally reached my expectations for the series, but Shadows in the Glass far exceeds them. Perhaps this is because we concentrate on Wilson Fisk rather than Matt Murdock. Charlie Cox has given Matt the perfect blend of tenacity and dangerous idealism, and his powers are always fun to explore. And obviously his fight sequences are more fun to watch than Fisks, which generally make me feel a bit sick. But he clearly doesnt have a plan, not really. That means that other than kicking down doors and telling everyone hes not bad! Fisks the bad one! he doesnt have much purpose in this growing web of villainy hes become enmeshed in. Perhaps because hes taken so low in this episode, hell but lets not get ahead of ourselves.   Read More... //www.vulture.com/2015/04/daredevil-recap-season-1-episode-8.html

Daredevil Review: Death Comes to Hell's Kitchen

Well, we're almost at the end of this wild ride, and it's been sensational! There were major losses on both sides in Daredevil Season 1 Episode 11 and Daredevil Season 1 Episode 12 . One, which I saw coming early on. The other, not so much. Still, watching Fisk choke the life out of Ben Urich was as brutal as anything we've seen so far. In my previous review, I mentioned the pacing had slowed down quite a bit. That continued here, and it's pretty clear the first few episodes were front-loaded with action sequences to get us hooked fast. Once we were invested, it was more about the drama.   Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2015/04/daredevil-review-death-comes-to-hells-kitchen/

Daredevil Review: Avocados At Law

It had been such an intense ride up to this point, that Daredevil Season 1 Episode 9 and Daredevil Season 1 Episode 10 seemed to slow things down a bit too much for my taste. Don't get me wrong, there were still plenty of action scenes. It's just that we had become used to a certain kind of pacing over eight episodes and that momentum definitely changed with these two entries. That said, I'm big on character development and there were no shortage of important moments here.  Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2015/04/daredevil-review-avocados-at-law/

Daredevil Recap: Black Sky

This episode, we go on a little trip down psyche lane with Matt Murdock and his old father figure, whom he calls Stick. But first, a bloody opener. The shot of the guy running down the stairs was great, as well as the way we see the elevator come up by a single sliver of white light. A man with a katana tortures him for information, and it turns out the guy doing the chopping is blind, was talking to a man in Japan, and is an old friend of Matts. They meet when Matt botches an interrogation with Leland Owlsley over what was honestly a terrible plan. Good job following him to his meet-up with Nobu, Matt but be a little more strategic about your intimidation techniques.   Read More... //www.vulture.com/2015/04/daredevil-recap-season-1-episode-7.html
