Nick Jonas Teases His MTV VMAs Performance of New Track Levels (Video)

Nick Jonas is busy this week juggling both shoots for Season 2 of his TV series Kingdom and rehearsals for Sundays MTV VMAs, where he will perform his catchy new single Levels live for the first time. Jonas talked about the performance during an interview with TheWrap this week on set of his DirecTV show. I worked with a great creative team who helped me bring my ideas to life. I had a bit of fun kind of playing with this concept I had with my management team with this thing called The Moon Babes where we basically did a bunch of VMA promos, Jonas told TheWrap.   Read More... //www.thewrap.com/nick-jonas-teases-his-mtv-vmas-performance-of-new-track-levels-video/

The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of August 24, 2015

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed—or at least be able to fake it—with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   Switched at Birth (Midseason Premiere) Monday at 8:00pm on ABC Family Why: Bay and Emmett broke UP, which is probably the most traumatizing thing to happen to Bay since she learned she was SWITCHED AT BIRTH. Meanwhile, Daphne is worried her friends don't like Mingo, and someone is pregnant... BUT WHO? Prepare to talk about: How you'd react to any subsequent traumas if you'd been switched at birth (like, "first I was switched at birth, and now I dropped my ice cream cone?!"); how Bay and Emmett will obviously, obviously, obviously get back together, since they belong together (it's true, don't argue); what you think of Mingo (if you don't watch the show, you can't go wrong with just saying, "Well, you go first, because I'm still trying to put what I want to say into words.")   America's Next Top Model Wednesday at 8:00pm on The CW Why: It's the makeover episode, which should be reason enough. The makeover episode is pretty much the only episode worth watching of every season (especially these beyond ridiculous later seasons), plus Hadassah looks like she's going to FREAK OUT, and she's super annoying (and I'm still bitter that they cut the beyond gorgeous Maleesa last episode). Who doesn't love "models" sobbing over a haircut? Prepare to talk about: How they could possibly top last season's beard weave; how Hadassah is just the worst (runner up: the girl with the teeth who cries all the time); who gets the worst makeover (other than all of them).   2015 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday at 9:00pm on MTV Why: Because the VMAs exist to shock. OK, in theory, the show exists to award musicians for their videos (which, as you've no doubt already pointed out, aren't even shown on MTV anymore), but ever since Madonna opened the first one writhing on the floor in a wedding dress singing "Like a Virgin," people have watched in order to see what "shocking" thing happens. In completely unrelated news, Miley Cyrus is hosting this year. Prepare to talk about: Kids today.       Leah E. Friedman  is the editor of SideReel.com. Top Moments: Jimmy Kimmel's Friendly Reunion and True Blood's Lifeless Finale

Our top moments of the week: 13. Best Response: In case you were living under a rock, or, you know, watching something else on TV Monday night, Gwen Stefani took a page from John Travolta's book and totally mispronounced Stephen Colbert 's last name when she presented at the Emmys . Even though Colbert had already pre-taped his Tuesday show last week, the host still gets in a small jab at the much-discussed gaffe in the blink-and-you'll-miss-it opening credits, in which "Colbore" comes across the screen next to other descriptive words like "honorable," "star-spangled" and...   //www.tvguide.com/News/Moments-Jimmy-Kimmel-Friends-True-Blood-Finale-1086377.aspx?rss=breakingnews

2014 MTV VMAs Performances: Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, 5 Seconds of Summer, Iggy Azalea & More

This year's VMAs performers have a lot to live up to, compared to the headline-making twerk-fest of last year, but we're confident that Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, and more will put on a satisfying show. The 2014 VMAs are upon us, and All Music’s got the details on the night’s most anticipated performances. Pop princess Ariana Grande, who is nominated for three Moon men this year, will open the show, while Sam Smith will make his US awards show debut by taking the stage for the first time. Other previously-announced performers include Nicki Minaj, 5 Seconds of Summer, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and Iggy Azalea, just to name a few…but we doubt anyone will be able to top Miley’s twerk fest from last year. Who do you think will deliver the best performance? Be sure to catch the VMAs live on August 24th, and as always, check back with us at All Music for more on your favorite artists.
