'Pretty Little Liars' S7E17: Driving Miss Crazy

★ ★ ★ "Driving Miss Crazy" is such an infuriating PLL episode that it would have driven me crazy too had this show not already done that years ago. This episode was a rollercoaster of hits and misses — and too often it was the latter. The problems PLL has had throughout the series kept popping up during this episode. There was laughably bad writing, overdramatic scenes, the mystery was rushed, and the romance was overextended. After this episode there are only three left, so all I can say is thank god this series is almost over. But like every episode of Pretty Little Liars , it wasn't all bad.   Now that Mona knows about the game, she's acting as a Liar's Lament A-ssistant. There is still plenty of snark and sarcasm from the liars about Mona's inclusion in the group, but now that Rosewood's best detective is on the case, it's only a matter of time before she solves it. Rosewood's second-best detective, Marco Furey, has moved past trying to arrest Spencer and focused on Haleb. Those two not-so-subtly dumping receipts and banging on a pipe last episode did not go unnoticed. After Aria secretly played a particularly disturbing recording of Peter Hastings for Spencer, Veronica, and Peter, she was finally rewarded. The prize for selling out her friends and wreaking havoc? A few puzzle pieces. This episode finally addressed Ezra’s long-standing sexually predatory ways. AD has a police report Aria almost filed when she found out about her fiance’s book. In it, she described Ezra as a conniving predator. But that wasn’t the only nice little callback to Aria's true love stalking her and her friends for a year. Ezra thought Aria was having doubts about marrying him because of that. She doesn’t… but she should. The disturbing message Aria played at the Hastings' house revealed that Mary Drake tried to set Peter Hastings up for the murder of her sister. But Mary claims the only reason she did it is because Jessica and Peter were planning on killing her. It sounds fishy, but Spencer's birth mom sounded like she was telling the truth. So for now... I trust Mary. After a hilarious Mona/Emily team-up at the office of the doctor who impregnated Alison, the liars have a solid clue about who the babydaddy is. In a Pretty Little Liars first, this episode featured a musical scene. Though a little bit hammy and drawn out for my taste, Janel Parrish has a nice voice. Hearing her sing while Ezra is in chains and a confused Aria looks distraught was hilarious. So even though this scene was sort of a fail, it was hysterical to watch. Mama Marin nitpicking a marriage proposal out of Caleb was very cute and totally in character for the show. Though the romance is normally cheesy, this scene wasn't. This episode ended with the reveal that Mona grabbed the shovels the girls used to bury Rollins' body. Though this is an obvious red herring ploy to make Mona look suspicious, it's also a hilarious callback to her role as the original A. She bashed Bethany in the head with a shovel, killing her and essentially that’s how this whole story was set in motion. Mona also has what looks like a new A lair set up at her place. Hopefully it’s just for research purposes, but can you ever really trust Mona? The best line of this episode goes to Veronica Hastings (Lesley Fera) for her role in Aria’s musical nightmare. Marrying Ezra and Aria, not only does Veronica call her a "selfish little bitch, " she follows that up with, "I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire." Brutal, and maybe a clue Veronica Hastings isn't as innocent as she appears. DId you like the musical scene? Is Veronica Hastings your hero now? Who the heck is AD? 'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: What is Mona Hiding?

Aria spirals into black and white insanity in this episode of Pretty Little Liars , which also includes a surprising proposal, a murder confession and a whole lot of dancing. Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 17 Review: Driving Miss Crazy

Is Mona seriously working for the bad guys? I can't help but roll my eyes after that final scene of Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 17 . When Mona locked the door on Emily, it was so obvious she had a makeshift A lair in her apartment. I can't be the only one who thought it was just her space to try and think like the villain to figure out who the heck the perpetrator is. The shovels, however, are a huge red flag. Are we to assume she got them to save Hanna's ass or is she up to something more sinister? If you were too wrapped up in your Bachelorette 2017 viewing party last night, you might’ve missed something major!
