Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 Episode 3 Review: Cops vs. Zombies

Do you think Jane Rizzoli likes zombies? On Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 Episode 3 she complained that she didn't. Over and over. She was so annoyed by the presence of fake zombies that it's amazing she was able to focus to help solve the case. Meanwhile, everyone else seemed to have real-life problems.   Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 18 Review: A Shot in the Dark

Television weddings are a time honored tradition. Characters postpone their nuptials a million times, almost break up before the big day or have a disastrous attempt at a wedding. Eventually, they share heartfelt vows that make audience members cry. Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 18 had all of that along with a cliffhanger suggesting that the wedding might have turned deadly. ...  Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 17 Review: Bomb Voyage

Jane really seems to be losing it. On Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 17 , she continually refused to leave Vince's side, lost her temper with a suspect and went off on a guard who was just doing her job. Has everything that Jane's lost finally caught up with her? ...  Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 16 Review: East Meets West

It's about time. After spending nearly a year in cartoonishcomic relief plots, Frankie gets a real storyline in Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 16 . Frankie may have met his romantic match, though he doesn't realize it because the girl is just so different. How exciting! The case of the hour wasn't too bad either, and Jane got some endearing scenes with Vince. If only there wasn't this silly cold remedy subplot, "East Meets West" would have been a perfect episode....   Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 15 Review: Scared to Death

Jane really is having a hard time regaining control over her life. In Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 15 , she's not allowed to participate in the investigation into her stalker, her best option for a new home is near Maura and Angela's, and she has to investigate a "fear club," which she thinks is ridiculous given recent events. Meanwhile, Vince is too happy for Jane's taste, while Maura won't let her worry about her....   Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Review: Personal Consequences of A Violent Crime

The kidnapped police officer has become so common on crime dramas that it's often predictable. Usually, the cop gets rescued just in time to avoid a grisly fate, then deals with the aftermath alone. Rizzoli& Isles handled things a bit differently, and that made the winter season opening doubleheader much more powerful. In Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 13 , the detectives raced to find Maura, while Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 14  featured both women dealing with what happened in between working on an interesting case...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 12 Review: 5:26

The best drama comes from turning the tables on a favorite character and seeing what they'll do. Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 12 does a superb job of that. Jane spends most of the hour resisting her friends' attempts to protect her from her mysterious enemy. Then it turns out she's not the one in danger. Season finales usually pull out all the stops, and "5:26" was no exception. I thought the emotional drama of Jane having to be the protected instead of the protector to be interesting. Jane isn't the type to sit around and wait, and I knew sooner or later she'd end up in the center of the investigation.   Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 11 Review: Fake It 'Til You Make It

Jane really hates L.A. Really, really hates it. In case that wasn't clear, she spent most of Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 11 complaining about it. Oh yeah, and helping solve a murder, too. I've always found stories where cops have to travel across the country or world to be a little bit problematic. Most of the time, there's no real reason for them to be there, and sometimes I wonder if they even have proper jurisdiction wherever it is that they're going. So when Vince told Jane and Maura to pack their bags, I was about as enthusiastic as Jane.   Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 10 Review: Sister Sister

Most of the time, the first suspect in any episode of Rizzoli & Isles turns out to be innocent. But usually, the suspects are human. In Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 10 , Vince rescued an innocent dog from the death penalty while investigating what really happened to its owner. This provided a neat twist on the usual formula while offering some extra suspense. Who else expected the dog to lunge at somebody sooner or later and prove Vince wrong?   Read More...   //

Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 9 Review: Love Taps

Jealousy makes people do crazy things. Sometimes, they send threatening texts or letters. Other times, they stalk the object of their jealousy. In Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 9 , that's just the beginning of the madness. The hour started off as a typical Rizzoli & Isles mystery, with a young kid literally being kicked off a cliff while begging for his life. At the beginning of the investigation, I thought he might have been a victim of bullying gone too far. My other theory was that he was participating in some weird hazing to fit in. Either one of those scenarios would have fit in with his roommate's assessment of his character.   Read More... //
