Liked the first season better (so far), but still VERY happy that there'll be a third season.

I am just grateful that Star Trek is back on the TV, I love a good Sci Fi show, and there isnt that many of them these days,
Wish they would hurry up with Picards Star Trek.

But as they say, Needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few, or one.

I love this show. It started out a bit dark, but I like what they've done with it. And I'm just glad there's a new Star Trek to look forward to.

Third time's the charm. Just keep chanting it to yourself, quietly.

Like others have said, this show isn't perfect, but it's great to have Star Trek back again.

This has got to be the highest budget tv show I've ever seen. The cinematography is superb (especially for a series), the acting is incredible, the storylines are close to perfect! I cannot picture this show being canceled at all.

I like Star Trek, I even like this show. But it's weird and dark compared to the other StarTrek shows, which I kind of like.

But part of me does think think this should be another Sci Fi show, and not a Star Trek one. I mean,
- Spock doesn't have a sister
- Nothing in the Star Trek Futures, has there ever been mention of a Red Angel, or even Discovery visiting another Dimension.
- Whilst I like the new version of the Kingons, I don't find them half as interesting as the old ones.

One thing I will admit, I was disappointed in, when the robot got 'Hacked', I was really wanting this to be a plot line to how the Borg's were created - But I will watch this space.

I'll admit, I enjoy the show. But this show has ruined the entire cannon of Star Trek. But when technology that they have in this show that takes place before all of the others (excluding Enterprise) is far superior to what they have later on.... I just makes no sense.

Also, the best role in Season 2 (Pike), won't even be around next season.

@kriebe...no Pike in the next season? How do you know this? I simply love this character. I think he's wonderful.

Just read this on Wiki

In 2019, CBS announced a new series was in development about Section 31, starring Michelle Yeoh.

According to a Trek website...

"The Section 31 series is the latest expansion of Star Trek on television. In addition to the already released Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Short Treks, CBS has officially announced the development of a new show focusing on Jean-Luc Picard featuring the return of Sir Patrick Stewart and an animated comedy, Lower Decks, being developed by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty). There are also reports of other shows in development including a more kid-friendly animated series and a live-action youth-oriented Starfleet Academy show."

@kriebe...Thank you for the link. I understand why Pike has to leave the show. Still disappointed that he won't be in season 3 though. One of my favourite characters.

@Indigo1311 np at all. I just think it's hilarious how they mention Rebecca Romijn on the same level as Anson Mount. Because she was in it soooo much...

Perhaps not the actor themselves, but I would like to see one of the former characters from the early 2000's Trek take over and be new captain, such as an elder Charles "Trip" Tucker III, T'Pol, Malcolm Reed or Hoshi, to name but a few.

Ok I just looked it up
Star Trek Enterprise was between 2151 and 2160
Discovery : 2256 -

So perhaps a descendant of the Enterprise crew from the early 2000's show

Well the above ideas arent going to happen now.
But I heard there is going to be two spin offs.

One about Section 31, another about Pike.

But it is making me wonder, if Discovery and the Picard Star Trek are some how to be connected?
What do you guys think?

I think the whole thing is going to go Marvel/Netflix and vanish through a wormhole into the future.
