I like some of Agatha Christie's murder mysteries, but was never a fan of Hercule Poirot . Didn't care for the character nor the actor portraying him. So, I've never seen The A.B.C. Murders before. I won't be complaining about any differences in the book, if there were any (didn't read the Hercule Poirot books), nor previous versions of the movie. I didn't realize this was an Agatha Christie murder mystery when I found it online. I saw John Malkovich's image and started watching it. Almost didn't continue when it identified it itself as a Poirot mystery, but I'm so glad I watched it. Exceptional attention to detail in this period piece. No one does period pieces better than the British. The first episode was a bit slow, but it really picked up. Somewhere along the line I figured out the man they were after wasn't the man they should be after, and who the killer really was. Watching Poirot figure it out and get the murderer was the fun. And John Malkovich is just a genius!
