So far it's...pretty okay. The story and dialogue are mediocre, acting is mostly solid, but I feel the characters are too clichéd (even for a comic book adaptation) and the "high speed" action is quite underwhelming. Compare that to Quicksilvers slo-mo scene in 'X-Men - Days of Future Past' which was amazing (I know they have different budgets, but still).

In contrast to shows like Daredevil, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Agent Carter, which have good drama as well as great action, The Flash has some catching up to do, but the potential is clearly there.

I agree with you completely...."the story and dialogue are mediocre, acting is solid", that comment alone describes this show to a "T". The acting is what brings me back every week.

I mostly make fun of the show during episodes at this point. The silliness is strong in this one.

Try harder, clueless morons. These are the best writers/producers on TV, mush for brains, hence why they have new shows and spinoff series coming out of their backsides every 6 months.

Stick with actual godawful shows that are horrendously written like Game of Bores. Laughable crap like that is clearly more your speed ; )

Dude, if you think Agents of Shield has good writing &/or drama, I seriously question your taste! I like that show, but I spend more time mocking the show during episodes than any other superhero show besides Supergirl (which is so inexcusably terrible I had to stop watching.) At least any silliness in Flash is intentional!

And as far as the characters being "too cliched", give me one good example of a non-cliche super hero or comic book character on TV right now! I mean, isn't "what-you-see-is-what -you-get" familiarity kind of the point of these shows? (Referring, above & for the rest of this post, to live action shows, of course; animated shows require a whole separate discussion...)

To me, The Flash stands out from the crowd of this genre of shows in that it's got good drama, but maintains a lighthearted quality that keeps it from getting mired in the "grimdark" melodrama of shows like Arrow, SHIELD, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones . And don't get me wrong, those are all good shows, but I sometimes feel they should air during the day and be classified as "action soap operas", /especially/ Arrow.

So what's so wrong with having a character who doesn't get mired down in the "being a super hero sucks" blues? Sure, he has his down moments, but then he picks himself back up and goes and saves the day and has fun doing it! The moments of levity, the quirky & lovable side characters (Cisco ftw!), the fun banter: these are what makes this show a breath of fresh air in today's line-up of comic book shows.

Oh, and I for one absolutely love the speed force action sequences! Even if you think they're somewhat lacking, comparing them to the action scenes of a blockbuster-budget action movie is just ridiculous.
