Unlike Band of Brothers, The Pacific failed to cement me in. With Band of Brothers we watched a core group of people go through the experience that the war was. We followed them, we developed with them and had deep meaningful backstories and watched these men change and come up together.

The Pacific for me failed because we followed three stories in a pretty disparate methodology. Episodes began by telling me where we were in the war and i was just watching war with no adherence to the man i was watching in its unfolding.

It lacked the built in comradery that was essential in making Band of Brothers awesome and The Pacific mediocre though beautiful.
